Jaipur : To celebrate art, culture and creativity, the FICCI Ladies Organisation (FlO) Jaipur Chapter is organising the Jaipur Art Fair, with the theme, ‘Rang De Jaipur’ on 4 and 5 May at Rajasthan International Centre (RIC). The fair will showcase the vibrant heritage and culture of Rajasthan while providing a platform for talented artists to exhibit their creativity. It will be inaugurated by Maharaj Kumar Dr Lakshyaraj Singh of Mewar on 4 May at 11 am, followed by a talk show on the topic: ‘Preservation of heritage Art and Culture of Udaipur’ along with an interactive discussion on ‘Legacy and Dynasty of Great King- Maharana Pratap’.
 
Chairperson 2024-25 FICCI FLO Jaipur and Director of Cheer Sagar Exports, Raghushree Poddar said that the objective of the art fair is empowering artisans and celebrating their talents. She said that having worked in the field of arts and crafts for 18 years as an exporter, she wants to motivate the younger generation to take up their family businesses and give a boost to the culture of Rajasthan.
 
The fair will feature 88 handicraft and handloom artisans, including as many as 15 award-winning ones. The award-winning artisans, curated by the Crafts Councils of Weavers and Artisans (CCWA), will be provided with complimentary stalls at the fair. These include Dr Brij Ballabh (Hand Block prints), Dr. Deepak Sankit (Meenakari), Prithavi Raj Kumawat (Gemstone Carvings),  Gopal Saini (Blue Pottery), Rajesh Jangid (Tarakashi), Vinod Jangid (Wood Carving), Kalyan Joshi (Phad Painting), Sabir (Lehariya), Madhu Ram (Barmer Waves), Nasruddin Ansari (Kota Weave), Ramu Ramdev (Miniature Painting), Hanif Usta (Usta Art), Anil Sikligar (Koftgiri) and Dwarka Prasad (Kawad Art).
 
The second day will see a lineup of talk shows: The Power of Art for Holistic Development of Children by Ms Jasleen (11.30 am to 12.30 pm); Restoring Art and Architecture by Shalini Ghelot, Raghav Dhoot, Shantanu Garg and Simran Kaur (3.30 pm to 4.30 pm); Talk with Entrepreneurs Under Ghungat by Shakuntala Dhoot, Jayshree Periwal, Sunita Shekawat, Leela Bordia and Aruna Singh (5.30 pm).
 
The two-day art fair will also showcase school art installations, live workshops and Organic and Artistic food by women entrepreneurs.
 
The fair will conclude with an Award Ceremony where select participants will be awarded. The 15 award-winning artists who are participating will be honoured. It is to be noted that the event will be open to the public from 11 am to 8 pm on both days with no entry charges.
