There has been a surge in cases of extortion by thugs in Jaipur. A case has surfaced where a Jaipur businessman was asked to pay a ransom of 20 million rupees. The businessman was threatened through calls made from unknown mobile numbers.
The callers disclosed details of the businessman's family business and warned him of dire consequences if the ransom was not paid. The victim has reported the incident to the Jyoti Nagar police station.
According to the police, the 33-year-old businessman, who resides on Sahakar Marg in Jyoti Nagar, filed a complaint stating that his business involves selling doors and windows.
On the night of April 13, he received several threatening calls from different unknown mobile numbers between 10 pm and 12 am. The callers demanded a ransom of 20 million rupees and threatened him if he failed to comply.
The businessman received calls from five different numbers, all of which were used to intimidate him with threatening language and demands for extortion money. The businessman's family is now terrified due to the threatening calls made from unknown mobile numbers.
The victim has approached the police and filed a complaint. The police are now trying to locate the thugs behind the calls by tracing the mobile numbers.
