Education Minister B.D. Kalla Draws Lots for Right to Education (RTE) in Jaipur Educational Complex

Today, Education Minister B.D. Kalla drew the lottery for the Right to Education (RTE) at the Jaipur educational complex. As part of this, approximately 2 lakh needy children will be granted free admission to around 37,345 private schools in the state.

During the event, Education Minister B.D. Kalla also advised officials from the Education Department to improve the management of government schools.

Kalla stated that despite having better teachers, we are unable to compete with private schools solely due to weak management. On the other hand, private schools are managed more efficiently.

He mentioned that we lack proper supervision, while private schools have well-trained staff who receive full payment and all facilities.

Due to management deficiencies, we are unable to perform to our full potential, while private schools have fewer qualified teachers. Moreover, in many cases, teachers in private schools do not receive full payment.

They are exploited and overburdened with work. This is why private schools have gained popularity among people. In this context, we also need to improve our management.

Education Minister B.D. Kalla further stated that more than 9 lakh students in Rajasthan have already benefited from the free education scheme under RTE. We will continue this initiative in the future to ensure that needy children receive the best possible education.

It should be noted that this year, over 5 lakh 38 thousand 579 students applied for admission to various schools, with more than 18 lakh applications received.

These applications included 664 orphaned children, 363 children affected by cancer and HIV, 478 disabled children, 40,183 children from Below Poverty Line families, and 1067 children of war widows.

In the document verification process, private schools can only raise objections to the submitted documents but cannot reject them. Any objections raised by the school will be examined by the CEO to determine their validity.

On the other hand, the government is reimbursing private schools for fees from Class 1 to Class 8, while admissions are being conducted for pre-primary classes without fee payment.

Currently, the government will only bear the fees for one class, and the remaining three classes' expenses will have to be borne by private schools.

Under the RTE law, online applications for admission in private schools were invited from March 29 to April 10. In total, 18 lakh 15 thousand 489 parents from across the state applied for admission for their children.

After the lottery process, parents will be able to report online to the respective schools. After document verification, students will be granted admission.
